Furry Creek Golf and CC is proud to be the first location to have $10,000 awarded for a hole-in-one in GPS Industries’ Fire at the Flag™contest

8th September, 2006
Furry Creek Hole in One Winner Carolyn EmoVancouver, BC – Furry Creek Golf and Country Club is proud to be the first location to have $10,000 awarded for a hole-in-one in GPS Industries’ Fire at the Flag™ contest.  Carolyn Emo from Maple Ridge, who has been golfing for over 35 years, came to the 8th tee on August 20, 2006, paid $10 to enter the contest and with one swing made her first ever hole-in-one!
“I was in total shock. I dropped my club and fell to my knees. I was blown away to get my first hole-in-one. My friends then started screaming that I won $10,000.00! It was too much to take in all at once. I couldn't wait to call my Dad as most of my family plays golf!” exclaimed Carolyn.  She added that she will spend her winnings first by taking her playing partners out for a nice dinner, pay some bills and follow that up with a holiday.
The Fire at the Flag™ contest adds a unique and obviously rewarding element to the experience at Furry Creek.  ”Those who enter the contest and score a hole-in-one instantly win $10,000 or $25,000 and then qualify for a trip to Orlando Florida in January for a shot at a $1,000,000 jackpot” says Michael Zuccolin, General Manager of Furry Creek. “Even if you don’t make an ace, we still award a prize for hitting the green in regulation. What’s really great is a portion of every entry fee is donated to support Junior Golf in British Columbia. It’s been a great success so far for all parties involved” adds Zuccolin.
“We wish Carolyn every bit of success when she travels to Florida.  This is already a great story, but it will be even more amazing if she can find one more magical swing and win a $1,000,000” says Zuccolin.
Furry Creek runs the Fire at the Flag™ contest most days but please inquire with the Golf Course for specific dates. Additional information about the Fire at the Flag contest can be found on Furry Creek’s website (www.golfbc.com) or GPS Industries’ website (www.gpsindustries.com).
