Wailea Golf Club Receives Gold Medal from Golf Magazine
31st March, 2004
Hawaii –
GolfBC’s newest member, Wailea Golf Club on
Maui, has once again been named to Golf Magazine’s
elite list of 25 Gold Medal Resorts for 2004-2005.
Based upon an extensive survey of the magazine’s
readers, the biennial award hailed Wailea Resort as the
“perfect balance between doing everything and doing
nothing,” whose three courses at the Wailea Golf Club
are within close proximity to the resort’s outstanding
luxury accommodations. Survey-takers’
comments include: “The most beautiful
courses on the island… Picturesque layout with great
views… I felt like a member of the course from the time
I arrived at the bag drop.”
Wailea Golf Club is not a newcomer to this
list. Wailea Golf Club previously earned Golf
Magazine’s Gold Medal award four twice (2000
– the first year Wailea was eligible – and
2002). The resort is on Golf
Digest’s prestigious list of the 75 best golf resorts
in the country (2002).
Wailea Golf Club is home to three championship layouts: the Wailea Old Blue, Emerald and Gold courses. Each winter, the Wailea Gold hosts The Champions Skins Game at Wailea, featuring four of the greatest players in golf history.
