GolfBC Announces Land Purchase at The Okanagan Golf Club

GolfBC, through its parent company Burrard International Holdings Inc., announces the purchase of previously leased land at The Okanagan Golf Club in Kelowna, British Columbia.

The Okanagan Golf Club is situated on land previously owned by Pier Mac Sand & Gravel, in Kelowna. A long term lease agreement between Pier Mac and Burrard International was in place for 15 years, allowing the uninterrupted operation of The Okanagan Golf Club. The purchase of this land now enables GolfBC and Burrard International to regain full rights to the land, and control all aspects of the Okanagan Golf Club.

“We are very pleased to acquire the land on which the Okanagan Golf Club is located,” said Andy Hedley, Vice President of Golf Operations, GolfBC British Columbia. “With the purchase finalized, it allows us to re-set our focus on the future and the quality of the facility.”

The Okanagan Golf Club – owned and operated by GolfBC Group – consists of two par 72, 18-hole golf courses. The 6,885 yard Bear Course was planned by Nicklaus Designs and built in 1998. The 6,794 yard Quail Course was designed by renowned golf course architect Les Furber and built in 1994. The Okanagan Golf Club also features an elegant clubhouse, Sarazen's Restaurant, Bar and Patio, a fully-equipped Golf Shop, double-ended driving range at the GBC Golf Academy, and banquet and event facilities with a capacity of up to 300 persons for Weddings, Tournaments and Meetings.
