February 2021: GolfBC implemented a NEW Point of Sale system, including tee sheet, retail, membership and food & beverage modules, as well as corresponding online booking portals for all our facilities.
Our team has been working incredibly hard to make this transition as positive and smooth as possible, and while we are confident that over time this will result in an improved golfers' user experience we also know that this change might present some growing pains and frustrations. We ask that you please bear with us, and be patient as we work through this transition. We will welcome your feedback, but please be understanding that some things might take a bit of time.
We have compiled a list of Questions & Answers on this new software, and how the changes to the internal systems and processes will affect you. If you have any questions that have not been addressed, please feel free to reach out via email at [email protected].
How do I book a tee time?
You can easily access the new online tee time booking portal by going to the golf course website, and clicking the "Book a Tee Time" button from any page on the website (middle of the page by the header image, or on a mobile device at the bottom of the screen). This will direct you to our new online portal. You can browse for tee times, but to book you will need to log in or register. (see below re: registration/logging in)
Do I need to have an online account?
Yes, an online account is required to book tee times, register for events/clinics or any other online purchases. Once you have an account, you will be able to book, view and modify golf bookings and event registrations, view transactions, update communication preferences and more. Golf club members will also be able to see the Member Tee Time booking option, as well as view their member statements online.
Will my current GolfBC login work?
No, this is a brand new system. However, if you are an existing member or customer of GolfBC - or receive our monthly eNews - we may already have a record for you that you simply need to activate. To check, click one of the following options that apply to you:
- I am a golf club Member at Nicklaus North
- I am a golf club Member at Mayfair Lakes
- I am a golf club Member at Gallagher's Canyon or The Pinnacle
- I am a golf club Annual Member at Olympic View
- I am a golf club Annual Member at The Okanagan GC (Bear or Quail)
- I am not a club Member, but have a Rewards Card or currently receive the GolfBC eNews
- None apply, but I would still like to check if I already have a profile
*If none of the above activation or verification options apply, or you received an error after entering your email address, you will need to register a new account (First Name, Last Name, Phone Number and Email Address will be required).
Will I automatically be signed up for emails/newsletters?
There are certain system-generated emails that you will receive based on a booking/purchase/registration, for example a confirmation of your tee time booking or cancellation, an event registration confirmation etc. Periodically you may receive emails from the golf courses if you are signed up for any of our leagues or programs (ie, Men's/Ladies night etc). Members will receive emails from the golf courses pertaining to member news/updates and other important information. Our general promotional emails are based on user opt-in, and once you have an account created you can sign up (or opt out of) emails by navigating to My Account > My Subscriptions.
As we are currently in a transition phase from our current communication tools to this new one, there will be a few months where you may receive emails through our old systems (either from GolfBC, or from the golf courses directly). It is important to us to ensure we are respectful of our Members' and customers' inboxes and time, and it is not our intention to send out unwanted emails. Our emails are all created internally by our own team members, who carefully curate content by working closely with our golf courses. We are working on better categorizing our newsletters, to give more preference-based options. If you feel you have received any of our emails in error, we apologize and look forward to hearing from you at [email protected] Most importantly, rest assured that we do not ever sell our database, nor do we purchase email lists.
