The Satellite Bar & Grille hosts “Official Launch Party” for Cowichan Wine & Culinary Festival

The Satellite Bar & Grille at Arbutus Ridge Golf Club is pleased to be chosen to host the “Official Launch Party” for the Cowichan Wine & Culinary Festival Sept 19-20, presented by Island Savings. The launch party is Friday, September 18 2009 from 6-9pm and includes appetizers prepared by Executive Chef Rick Davidson, entertainment and wine tasting from four local wineries.

The Satellite Bar & Grille recently joined the Wine Islands Vintners Association and has hosted two previous sell out Winemaker’s Dinners including last year at the Cowichan Wine & Culinary Festival. This year the Satellite Bar & Grille will host the opening event on Friday as well as a Winemaker’s Dinner on Sunday, September 20th.

Arbutus Ridge Golf Club named its restaurant the Satellite Bar & Grille two years ago in order to break down the stigma of being a “golf course restaurant”. The result has been good growth in non-golf visits for breakfast, lunch, dinner and special events. The Satellite Bar & Grille name aptly represents the views of the Satellite Channel area you get from the clubhouse as well as a menu inspired by the local Satellite Channel area. “The ocean, island and mountain views are stunning”, says Food & Beverage Manager Michael Brown. “Guests come for a combination of the view, good friendly service and high quality food with a variety of menu options”, he finished. “Casual menu options are available as well as upscale options on the dinner menu that rival the best restaurants on Vancouver Island”, says Executive Chef Rick Davidson. “We are very fortunate to have an Executive Chef with extensive experience with some of the best hotels and restaurants in Canada who has also worked with award winning Chefs”, said General Manager Jason Lowe. “We’re proud to partner with the Cowichan Wine & Culinary Festival and Island Savings, the event has great momentum and we look forward to the Friday and Sunday events”, he adds.
